Aycock Auditorium seats 2300 people and is used for our large musical productions including the Spring Opera. Aycock Auditorium is located on the corner of Spring Garden and Tate Streets.

The UNCG Department of Dance will present an evening of work by faculty artists on Friday and Saturday, February 10-11, 2012 in Aycock Auditorium on campus. The show will feature original work by dance faculty artists.
This evening’s concert features the UNCG University Band performing music of light and dark. Joining the University Band are featured soloists Aaron Wilson, trombone and Andrew Smith, tuba performing "Turrin’s Fandango."
The University Band is comprised of UNCG students from various majors and departments within our university who join together to play a varied repertoire of quality concert band literature.
Composers throughout history have used the journey of the archetypal hero as a theme. Tonight’s program follows the hero as he succumbs to accursed tragedy, wanders in a more pastoral setting, and ultimately experiences triumph.
The program: Franck, "Le chasseur maudit"; Mahler, "Songs of a Wayfarer"; Beethoven, Symphony No. 3, “Eroica.”
With Kevin Geraldi, conductor, Robert Wells, baritone, and Eduardo Vargas, graduate conductor.
This annual joint performance by the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble is a featured part of the 23rd Annual Carolina Band Festival and Conductors Conference. The UNCG bands welcome guest conductors Eugene Migliaro Corporon (University of North Texas) and Mark Camphouse (George Mason University), and tuba soloist Dennis AsKew.

Voices of Light is composer Richard Einhorn’s 1994 oratorio inspired by Carl Dryer’s 1928 silent film, "The Passion of John of Arc."
Performance conducted by Welborn Young, performed in collaboration by UNCG Chamber Singers, Bel Canto Company,
Greensboro Youth Chorus, UNCG faculty soloists Nancy Walker, Clara O’Brien, Robert Bracey, and Robert Wells, and members of the UNCG Orchestra.
The annual spring opera is a collaboration between the music and theatre departments. The title is "Don Giovanni" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The opera is directed by David Holley.
Founded by Ronald K. Brown in 1985, Evidence, A Dance Company seamlessly weaves traditional African dance with contemporary choreography and spoken word. Brown uses movement as a way to reinforce the importance of community in African American culture and to acquaint audiences with the beauty of traditional African forms and rhythms. Evidence provides a unique view of human struggles, tragedies, and triumphs.
