After seeing Urinetown, performed by the Livestock Players of City Arts, I noticed something I don't usually notice in a musical..THE ENSEMBLE! In this specific musical and performance it seemed like every character had importance and presence. There were no "Person #2" roles, if you get my point. Since I love warm fuzzies, I'll give some warm fuzzies to the ensemble of Urinetown. Soupy Sou--Great costume with the spoon accent Poor Emily--Good character choices, and good freezes Hot Blades Harry--I love gore, so your bloody scars impressed me. So did your energy. Little B.2.S.--Good spirit, and you had great coordination for an actor! B.B.B.--Great ensemble choices, strong moves, and "OOOOOOOH!!!!" R.S.F.--strange character name... fishy... but i loved your violin solo Josephine--Good motherly qualities, and very cute comic moments Tiny Tom--Great consistency and inflection choices, cutie Collapse

I have taken my family every year and we all love it ... If you go I would suggest that you dress warm because some of the walking is outside ... the lights are beautiful and the elfs singing are great ... I would highly recommend it to anyone !!!!! Collapse

These evenings at the Guilford Grange are great musical entertainment, a fun and sociable way to get exercise, and inexpensive too. You don't need to bring a partner; there are people of all ages to dance with, and in fact it's impossible not to encounter just about everyone due to the way dancing couples progress up and down the hall. A caller teaches each dance, which is always repetitive enough to learn pretty easily, and the music is excellent, with talented musicians performing on a variety of traditional instruments such as fiddle, guitar, piano, mandolin, flute etc. Light refreshments are served free at the break. Newcomers should arrive by 7:30 in order to take the free lesson, but contra dancing lacks fancy footwork so is easy to learn. Wear lightweight clothes, bring sneakers or other shoes with easily flexible soles, and be ready for an active evening! Collapse

In this 14th year of the Community Theater of Greensboro's (CTG) production of the wizard of Oz, the cast and crew have put on a terrific show for our community. The main leads (Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, WW of East & Glinda) nail their parts with enthusiasm and panache, as well as their musical solos. It is a very strong ensemble. Perhaps just as amazing are the Munchkins, Monkeys, Poppies, etc which can't be the easiest to direct into a coherent song & dance sequence using 4-5 yr olds and up, but CTG pulls it off, even lifting some material from the Sopranos to do it. Easily our kids favorite part (along with the Lion). For our family, the CTG production of OZ is easily one of the better ideas to spend money on for the family, as it is nearly 3 hours of pure enjoyment -- the wholesome kind not found often enough these days (sadly). I have been going to this show since it started and it' a great place to learn about any old bottles or pottery items that you might have. There are over a hundred tables of quality antique bottles, pottery, advertising (Whiskey, Coca Cola, Pepsi} It's a great show to pick up a Christmas present, get an item appraised or sell something that has value but you no longer collect or have any interest in. This is a great place for train lovers. My daughter loves Thomas and any train. the members of this club are very kid friendly and although it is tough to keep hands off it is worth a trip to visit the Railroaders. If you are there when a train goes by outside...everybody stops to watch! (and no gift shop! bonus!) Janet and the Train crew Collapse

It is very fun place with all the people and the music and laser lights. Driving past you would never think the bowling alley was a "happening place" but I have been a couple of times and enjoyed each time. Collapse
