    Allie Scott

    Visual Artist

About the artist: Allie's watercolor paintings are a blend of realism with touches of abstraction. Her work frequently takes the viewer to a unique perspective. Subject matter may range from trawler hooks, tractor engines, florals and portraits, to landscapes creating appealing images for a diverse audience. Large florals and botanicals are a frequent subject. Each flower has a unique personality and textual quality that creates interest. A close up portrait stle takes you into the painting and the personality of the plant. Dewdrops, ladybugs, and bees can be found in many of her close up floral subjects like jewels they are finishing details that complete the piece. Textural elements predominate in her industrial works and landscapes. Whether the subject is a barge engine, rust on an old boat hook, or dinged and beaten fishing boats she specializes in textural techniques to bring the subject to life.

Allie, a California native, completed graduate school at Auburn University. She has been awarded signature membership in both the Georgia and North Carolina Watercolor Society by repeated acceptance into juried national and regional competitions.
