  About the artist: Bert VanderVeen,
  
  is a North Carolina photographer specializing in people and what they do. His family has been photographing the people and places of NC for over 100 years, five generations of artists starting with his great uncle Arthur Baker, who was court photographer to Queen Victoria before emigrating to the mountains of NC. Bert now lives in Greensboro NC with his wife, Rebecca, and their two daughters. His photography has been featured in The Washington Post, Our State, Renaissance Magazine, The Winterthur Magazine and various trade publications to the furniture and yachting industries.
