Greensboro Ballet
The School of Greensboro Ballet is the only non-profit ballet school in the city, and one of a relative few in the country. Our goal is to offer the finest dance education to children of all ages. Some of our students have a serious interest in this art form and hope to make it their profession one day. The majority of students simply find it an enjoyable activity. Our curriculum, teaching methods and performance opportunities offer all of our students a program of learning that is age appropriate, challenging, invigorating and enjoyable no matter what the goal of the individual…
Greensboro Opera Company
The curtain went up on the first Greensboro Opera Company production on October 16, 1981, with Verdi's La Traviata, starring the then unknown June Anderson. The foundation of this venture was laid the previous year by a group of civic leaders and music lovers. They adopted a dual mission: the presentation of operatic productions of the highest possible professional standards, and the education of the community about opera. The opera company has grown steadily and carefully in the ensuing 25 years.
The backbone of the Company has been, and continues to be, fully staged productions of major operas each year.…
Carolina Theatre
The Carolina Theatre is a non-profit organization that provides a state-of-the-art downtown performance, film, and rental facility to the greater Greensboro community. It is a member of the League of Historic American Theatres and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
