Poetry readings by UNCG Creative Writing Program students 7 pm - Performance of Drum Machine by Invisible, a local experimental music collective Exhibitions open until 8 pm including the new Kiki Smith: Look of the Hand/Touch of the Eye and the 40th Biennial Art on Paper exhibitions. Free admission and refreshments. Costumes and other disguises encouraged.

“Invisible” is an experimental music collective hailing from Greensboro consisting of three core members: Jonathan Henderson, Bart Trotman, and local artist Mark Dixon. Depending on when you've seen “Invisible”, you may have caught one of three incarnations; music based around a typewriter connected key by key to a piano, an analog drum machine that uses a wheel with pins to trigger mechanical mallets on acoustic drums, or an onslaught of unconventional noise rock. For their October 31st performance at the Weatherspoon, Invisible will use Dixon's drum machine with accompanying electronics, a variety of samples, bass, guitar and other surprises to be determined. 6:30-8pm

I am disappointed this will be on Halloween, when I have family commitments. I hope there will be another opportunity to catch this show and see this incredible drum innovation!
