The locally-shot family film "Lost Stallions: The Journey Home" starring Mickey Rooney will continue running for a week at the Carousel Cinemas in Greensboro starting Friday, June 20. The film features many prominent Triad locations, including Walnut Cove, Danbury, Pilot Mountain State Park, and Hanging Rock State Park. Also, various local talent was used, including actors R. Keith Harris (Junebug, Chicks 101) and Rachael Handy (George Washington). "Lost Stallions: The Journey Home" tells the story of Jake, a teen who visits a horse ranch retreat for troubled families after the death of his father. There, the wise ranch owner Chief (Mickey Rooney) helps to teach Jake valuable life lessons as he confronts his rocky past and grows into adulthood. The movie is unrated, but is recommended for families. Some mild action scenes may be too intense for very young children.
