The Community Theater of Greensboro's (CTG) production of "The Sunshine Boys' is phenomenal! The director and cast have impressively captured the humor of this Neil Simon comedy in their well-staged version of this popular play. Presented in the studio space of the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, the audience is intimately connected to the actors and the laughter is contagious; it was incredible to hear so much raucous laughter during the show! We are lucky to have such an organization as CTG and so many talented actors in our community. "The Sunshine Boys is "must see" not only to support community theatre in Greensboro, but because this is a outstanding production with a superbly talented cast and great direction. Thanks CTG - and the cast of "The Sunshine Boys" for yet another top-drawer production. Who needs Broadway when we have such great talent here in Greensboro!! Collapse

CTG's "Wait Until Dark" is stupendous. The acting talent is impressive and the production value superior. Mark Flora as "Harry Roat" and Miranda Loweder as "Susy Hendrix", exemplify the superlative talent that even a volunteer community theater can attract: they are both outstanding. This is not to discount the fine acting of the other cast members - for the entire cast is strong - but Mr. Flora and Ms. Lowder stand out for the ease and perfection with which they create and portray their difficult and demanding roles and leave the audience with substantive and memorable characters. Technically, the production is impressive with complex lighting and sound cues and active staging that all move together seamlessly to create a true sense of reality on a set that is on par with the sets one sees on the stages of professional regional theater companies. "Wait Until Dark" is deserving of our community's support and is well-worth seeing! Collapse

Great Event! This is the 1st year I had attended. I had several friends & children who were in it and they did a great job. They put in very long hours of practice. It was a real commitment on their parts. Great community event! Sounds to me like the previous reviewer has an axe to grind and I'm sorry he/she chose this venue to vent. Did someone else get the part they wanted???? Collapse

In this 14th year of the Community Theater of Greensboro's (CTG) production of the wizard of Oz, the cast and crew have put on a terrific show for our community. The main leads (Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, WW of East & Glinda) nail their parts with enthusiasm and panache, as well as their musical solos. It is a very strong ensemble. Perhaps just as amazing are the Munchkins, Monkeys, Poppies, etc which can't be the easiest to direct into a coherent song & dance sequence using 4-5 yr olds and up, but CTG pulls it off, even lifting some material from the Sopranos to do it. Easily our kids favorite part (along with the Lion). For our family, the CTG production of OZ is easily one of the better ideas to spend money on for the family, as it is nearly 3 hours of pure enjoyment -- the wholesome kind not found often enough these days (sadly). I had a great time when I went to see this play.. It is SO funny, it will have you falling out of your seat. < Each actor really gets into their character and they are very easy to relate to. The audience gets to participate at the end -- which is fun. Overall, the play was very well done and just SO funny. I am going to see it a 2nd time. I would go see it every night if I could afford it! :) Collapse
