Dialogue: Dawoud Bey with Xandra Eden
August 28, 2008
Add Review/CommentIn conjunction with Dawoud Bey: Class Pictures, join artist Dawoud Bey and Weatherspoon curator of exhibitions, Xandra Eden for an insightful dialogue on the artist’s works, motivation, and vision. Bey’s poignant color portraits depict teenagers from a wide economic, social, and ethnic spectrum. A personal statement, written by Bey’s subjects, accompanies each portrait. Together, text and image reveal much about the timelessness of adolescence and the unique challenges young people face in the twenty-first century. 5-6pm. Free. Please arrive early, seating is limited. Weatherspoon auditorium. Image: Dawoud Bey, 2006 by Bart Harris (2006)
