The Idiot Box will kick-off North Carolina’s biggest stand-up comic contest, the Ultimate Comic Challenge. Dozens of comedians from across North Carolina will compete for the title of the Ultimate Comic and a total of $1000 in prize money that goes to the winner. In addition, the finalists will all be invited to participate in a special stand-up comedy night in the Fall, which will feature the winner, the Ulitmate Comic. Hosted by the Idiot Box’s own funny man, Steve Lesser – there will be 6 weeks of competition. “This is simply awesome to be hosting the biggest and best comedy challenge in NC – the comics and sponsors are very enthusiastic about this event,” Lesser said. Lesser added, “what’s great about this contest is that the audience is going to have a real big say on who moves on and ultimately which comic wins.” Schedule of events for the Ultimate Comic Challenge All shows will be at 10pm on Fridays for the following dates: •June 13th Round 1 •June 20th Round 1 continued •June 27th Round 2 •July 4th Dark – No Ultimate Comic Challenge this week •June 11th Round 3 •July 18th Round 4 •July 25th FINALS Seating is limited.
