The Davidson County Community College’s Zoo and Aquarium Science Club will hold a rain barrel sale at the Natural Science Center of Greensboro in an effort to promote water conservation. A rain barrel collects water and stores it for when you need it most -- during periods of drought -- to water plants, wash your car, or to top a swimming pool. It provides an ample supply of free 'soft water' to homeowners, containing no chlorine, lime or calcium making it ideal for gardens, flower pots, and car and window washing. The 60-gallon barrels may be purchased for $95 (actual value is $125). For details, visit http://www.freewebs.com/dcccfuturezookeepers/rainbarrelsale.htm.
