Add Review/CommentWhat has ears like a jackal, the color and face of a fox, legs like a deer and the smell of ten skunks? A pair of rare, critically endangered Maned Wolves in the brand new Jean and Taylor Brooks Family Maned Wolf Conservation Center and Duke Energy Solar Solutions Center! The public grand opening of the nation's first green and sustainable Maned Wolf breeding center. Located next to the tiger exhibit, the Maned Wolf exhibit is the first exhibit in Phase II of the Animal Discovery Zoological Park. About Our Maned Wolves - The sisters, named Nena and Luna, were born at the Smithsonian's Endangered Species Breeding Center, but arrived at the Natural Science Center from the Little Rock Zoo. A single male Maned Wolf will be shipped in to begin the breeding program in about a year. Bringing “Green” to Greensboro - This brand new exhibit showcases the "smart science" emerging out of today‟s green technology revolution. From "green" concrete encased post-consumer styrofoam block walls to recycled Bog Garden fencing, recycled Duke Energy power poles, locally donated high-efficiency windows, recycled carpet lined planted roof, rain water capture and a Buy-All, Sell-All solar power system, this exhibit will educate visitors at so many levels.
