As part of the evening’s festivities, attendees will be treated to a three course meal with wine accompaniment, a silent and live auction and a live dance band. The event has been graciously sponsored by: The Proximity Hotel, American Express, Boulton Advertising, Phase Three Communications, Replacements Ltd., and The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. Businesses that have donated items for this year’s auction include: Caroline Faison Antiques, Douglas Freeman, Jim Gallucci Sculptor, Yamamori, Inc, Murphy’s Upholstery, Marisol Fine Dining, 1618 Restaurant, Eric Beerbower, Kriegsman Furs, and Quaintance Weaver Hotels & Restaurants. Last year, the GGF raised more than $100,000 through its Friendship Drive, the organization’s signature fundraising campaign, the annual Holiday Wreath Auction and the silent and live Gala auctions; GGF expects to surpass that amount this year. “The Guilford Green Foundation is a crucial part of this community because it promotes awareness and a better understanding of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender issues,” says Ruth Heyd, 2008 Board Co-Chair. “The foundation’s purpose of ‘uniting community’ is important as Greensboro moves into the 21st century because it demonstrates that our long standing ties with social justice is just as important today as it has been throughout history,” she adds. “The Gala is merely one way GGF supports the community by making Greensboro a better place to live, work, and play,” says Margie Walker, 2005 Board Co-Chair. “All the money raised by GGF goes back into the community to strengthen and support the interconnectedness we all share,” she adds.
