    African American photographer, Michael Cunningham who resides in Washington, D.C will visit Greensboro for the exhibit opening: “Jewels: Fifty Phenomenal Black Women over Fifty” and artist reception. The exhibit will run from March 16 – May 9, 2008. In addition to the exhibit several extended programming activities will be offered at the Atelier. As a bonus the artist will also conduct a hands-on “Shutterbugs workshop” titled: “Photography as an art form: Creative camera basics and composition” as part of the “Atelier Around the World” youth program. Atelier co-founder and arts educator Alma Adams, Ph. D., will curate the exhibition which is free and open to the public. Partial funding and support for the exhibition events are provided by The United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro, and The North Carolina Arts Council. The community is cordially invited to attend. Gallery hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
