Musical Moods 2008 Valentine's Benefit Concert for Sanctuary House
February 16, 2008
Add Review/CommentSanctuary House, a non-profit rehabilitation organization serving adults with serious mental illness in Guilford County, is hosting a Second Annual Valentine’s Day Dinner/Concert. Last year’s Valentine’s Concert, “Musical Moods,” included dinner and music featuring nationally renowned singer/songwriter, Vaughan Penn. The event sold out, even when a second seating was opened to accommodate the organization’s supporters. Because of the overwhelming response last year, Sanctuary House is hosting another exciting night this coming Valentine’s weekend. “Musical Moods 2008” features headliners, Polecat Creek lead vocalists: Laurelyn Dossett & Kari Sickenberger. Special performances by Triad’s own premier New Orleans Jazz band – The Swamp Cats and great island tunes by Hot Pink Flamingos. In addition to the concert, the evening will include cocktail, light appetizers, sit-down dinner, dessert and entry into our Silent Auction area. Raffle prizes are also available and include: Proximity Hotel (1 weekend night stay – value $199); Fleming’s Steakhouse ($100 Gift Certificate + unique set of artist-etched wine glasses); Great Harvest Bread Company (Bread of the Month Club for 1 Year – value $84); Bears, Balloons & Beyond (One Deluxe Floral Arrangement - $75 value); Balance Day Spa (2.75 hour “Refresher Package” – 60 minute massage, paraffin manicure, classic pedicure – value $130). The concert is a great way to support the invaluable services of Sanctuary House. Paul Wingfield, Member of Sanctuary House, sums it up by saying, “Having events like Musical Moods, helps to raise awareness in the community about mental illness. Last year was a great opportunity for the members to meet supporters from the community. It was great to see how many people support the mission of Sanctuary House and want to improve the quality of life of its members. Coming to Sanctuary House has helped me gain independence, build friendships and become a contributing part of the community.” Join us on Saturday, February 16th, 2008. Doors open 6:30pm, with entertainment beginning at 7:30pm, at George K’s Restaurant, 2108 Cedar Fork Drive, Greensboro, NC.
