Join bestselling author Isabel Allende in her only North Carolina appearance on tour for the hardcover English release of "Maya's Notebook."

Born in Peru and raised in Chile, Allende has authored many novels including "The House of the Spirits" and "Eva Luna." Her books have been translated into more than 27 languages and have become bestsellers across four continents.

Allende was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and was awarded the 2010 National Prize for Literature, Chile's most prestigious literary award.

Books will be on sale before and after the event. A book signing follows her presentation.

All proceeds benefit BOOKMARKS, a Triad based nonprofit literary organization.
