Tall tales and rollicking songs in the Diamond Studs and Pump Boys and Dinettes tradition transport audiences to the Outer Banks for a pleasant spate of fun and fishing. Staging a benefit concert to save the Corncake Inlet Inn, the lively cast of fishermen musicians sing up a storm, tell fish stories and ghost stories, and relate accounts of first loves and ones that got away.

      Went to the August 5th show. Bass player seemed to be a good musician but couldn't sing worth a sh__t. Keyboard singer very good. Would look and give anything to see originals.

      Excellent songs and a minimal book typify Wann/Simpson musicals, and KM is no exception. The TA beachfront set is well realized, and projected images add a lot to the visual impact. The cast is... Expand

      Excellent songs and a minimal book typify Wann/Simpson musicals, and KM is no exception. The TA beachfront set is well realized, and projected images add a lot to the visual impact. The cast is enthusiastic and play their instruments well. In the show we saw, there were problems with the microphones and sound balance that troubled both acts. Jason Kraak came out the winner in balance and was generally on pitch, but his keyboard was a bit loud at times. Mike Orsillo was sometimes adequately loud and other times too soft, as was the electric guitar he used on some songs, and he had noticeable difficulty with pitch in the second act. Tracy Warren and Ken Ashford were vocally under miked in both acts. Warren could have stepped forward on the set to be heard more effectively. Their bass guitar/string bass and drums were generally in balance. I've heard Wann do the songs live and loved this show on CD for years - The Breeze is true gem. I wouldn't hesitate to go to this production again. Collapse
