Farmers' Appreciation Day
September 8, 2007
Add Review/CommentThe Greensboro Farmers’ Curb Market will be hosting the sixth annual Farmers’ Appreciation Day and Market Celebration on Saturday, September 8th, from 6 am to noon. The Market is celebrating its 133rd year as a city administered farmers’ market. There will be a southern breakfast (eggs, grits, biscuits, sausage, and ham) prepared by Alex Amoroso of Cheesecakes by Alex. There will also be live music and a wide variety of exhibitors. The historic Greensboro Farmers’ Curb Market, a facility of the Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department, is located near downtown Greensboro across from the old War Memorial Baseball Stadium. Among the items available for purchase are fresh produce, cut flowers, bedding plants, potted flowers, baked goods, and a variety of arts and crafts. Local produce available includes tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, summer squash, green beans, cucumbers, and garlic. Customers at the Market can also purchase Homeland Creamery dairy products, fresh eggs, free range chicken, goats milk cheese, beef, pork and North Carolina fish and seafood. The Market is open year round on Saturdays, 6 am to noon, and on Wednesdays, 7 am to 1 pm, May through December.
