On June 23, 1992, The Weekly World News reported the apparent discovery of a bat child in a cave near Hope Falls, West Virginia. The musical based on this story is a wild tale with a message of tolerance and love. After attacking a young girl out of fear, Bat Boy is brought to the home of the Parker Family, who accept him and teach him to act “normal.” Despite his efforts to fit in, Bat Boy is turned on by the members of the town when Dr. Parker jealously tarnishes Bat Boy’s reputation. It doesn’t take long for everyone to learn Bat Boy’s shocking origin and determine just what “normal” means. "Big laughs…It's remarkable what intelligent wit can accomplish—a jaggedly imaginative mix of skewering humor and energetic glee." —NY Times. This production is rated PG-13 for some adult content and language as well as violence.
