Add Review/CommentChinqua Penn Vineyards, located on Chinqua Penn Plantation at 2138 Wentworth Street in Reidsville, N.C., will begin its first Summer Music Series July 26, 2007. Concerts will be held every Thursday from 6 – 9 p.m. and are free to the public. Doors open at 5 p.m. Guests are invited to bring their lawn chairs and a picnic dinner if they wish. Chinqua Penn wines, soft drinks and bottled water will be sold. No outside beverages are allowed. Concerts will be held at the picnic shelter nearest the bell tower on the grounds, just above the Ha-Ha Wall. Seating on the wine patio is also available. July 26 - Georgiana n/ More, Madison’s own Georgiana Penn sings a variety of contemporary music, keyboard and guitar Aug 2 - Bruce Piephoff, terrific folks & blues tunes and acoustic guitar Aug 9 – Expresso Brazil, traditional Brazilian music…easy listening rhythm and groove sound Aug 16 - Tracy Earl Welliver and the Have A Nice Day Project, all original music in a folk-rock style with full instrumental backup Aug. 23 – Bradford Reaves and Friends, toe-tapping original acoustics flavored with memorable favorites Aug. 30 - Bull City, The Band - Well-known to the Chapel Hill/Raleigh/Durham music scene , the four members of the rock and roll band, Bull City, bring equal amounts of inspired songcraft and sonic invention. To put it quite simply, they rock! Sept. 6 - Doug and Telisha Williams - This singer songwriter couple embodies the true Southern songwriting tradition. Playing what they call Fuel Injected Folk, this husband and wife duo hail from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Their roots are real, their words are true, and their energy is contagious.
