Bright Star Children's Theatre, a nationally touring professional theatre for young audiences based in Hendersonville, North Carolina will perform it's interactive and family friendly comedy "The Lemonseed Sisters Rendition of Little Red Ridinghood" on Saturday, June 2 at 10:30 AM & 2:00 PM at the Greensboro Historical Museum in downtown Greensboro. This is the fourth production by Bright Star to visit the museum, following highly acclaimed showings of "Heroes of the Underground Railroad" among others. The play tells the story of the world famous "Lemonseed Sisters" who have come to perform their renown rendition of "Little Red Ridinghood" the only problem is they have misplaced their script in the process and the play must inevitably end. Realizing the value of the assembled crowd the two embark on a quest to recreate the famous story through audience suggestions and the use of young volunteers. The result is a hilarious rendition of the tale, that will have audiences rolling in the aisle with delight! This production has lots of ties to the Greensboro area. Bright Star Children's Theatre was launched five years by UNCG Theatre alum, David Ostergaard, and this particular production features two actors currently in pursuit of their MFA at the University. Actors Gretchen Ferris and Lindy Flowers will star as the Lemonseed Sisters and will tour the production throughout the Mid-Atlantic until school resumes in mid-August. Following the performance, audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions about the show and the theatre as well as meet and greet the actors. "It's a wonderful opportunity for young audience members to see the magic of the theatre up close. It really gets their imaginations working!" said company co-founder David Ostergaard. Bright Star Children's Theatre is a nationally touring company composed entirely of professional actors and designers. The company regularly performs in theatres, museums, schools and libraries from Detroit to Atlanta. This past year the company has performed over 400 productions in eleven states! In September, Bright Star has been invited to the National Theatre in Washington DC for performances of their anti-bullying production, "The Lady of Bullyburg!" For additional information about this production please contact the Greensboro Historical Museum at (336) 373-2043. The Museum is located at 130 Summit Avenue in downtown Greensboro. Tickets are just $5.00. To learn more about Bright Star Children's Theatre, please feel free to visit us anytime at www.brightstartheatre.com
