Kenan Institute for the Arts, a privately funded program of the North Carolina School of the Arts. This series encompasses plays and concert musicals with social, political, minority, ethnic, or multi-cultural themes, as well as thought-provoking and original explorations of the human condition, all of which are new works, works unfamiliar to most area theatergoers, or forgotten works worthy of re-examination. The Angels of Lemnos is about the lifelong journey of a child-like man, lost on the streets of America, who reaches a crossroads where he discovers that angels come to us disguised. Nathan Spandrel spends frigid winter days on the streets of the city searching for his "Gift from God". We follow this child-like man's journey through his present and past. Nathan finds his "Gift", an abandoned baby in a city trashcan. He believes the baby is an angel that fell from the sky and is determined to take his "angel baby" floating back to heaven. He spends a touching moment giving up his precious living gift. Nathan learns that redemption and inner-peace come from forgiving those in his past who still haunt him. Directed by NCSA Senior Directing Student, Adam Woolley. For more information about The Kenan Institute for the Arts, call 336-722-0030. For more information about The Little Theatre, call 748-0857. The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem is a funded member of the Arts Council of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County.
