La Revue Negra: The Josephine Baker Story

La Revue Negra: The Josephine Baker Story

Presented by Greensboro Historical Museum at Greensboro Historical Museum

    February 25-February 28, 2010

Celebrating both Black History and Woman's History Month, Actress Ashanti White's one-woman review shares the story of the life and accomplishments of Josephine Baker. Ms. White has been hailed as the Zora Neale Hurston of her generation. She is an actress, dancer, poet and published author with local connections who currently lives in Atlanta. This continuing partnership with Drama Is Life Productions, Inc., the talented group that brought us "Simply Langston, the life and work of Langston Hughes" last February also heralds the return of Mr. Bill Alston's popular 5-piece jazz ensemble accompanying Ms. White.
