The morning will be filled with craft activities, story time and programs for children and families. The Museum will also have on display a child-sized replica of the original Woolworth Sit-in Counter on loan from the International Civil Rights Museum. The counter will be on display in the Museum’s lobby for visitors and Members and will be a part of the Museum’s ongoing Culture of Color educational program. Children will have the opportunity to sit at the counter, imagine what it was like for the four brave men from A&T University to take the bold move back in 1960 and learn more about the Sit-In and Civil Rights Movement.
