January 14, 2010
Add Review/Comment
Baritone opera singer Nathan Gunn will perform Jan. 14 as part of Wake Forest University’s Secrest Artists Series. Described as “velvet-voiced” by New York magazine, Gunn is one of the nation’s most in-demand opera singers. He will perform at 7:30 p.m. in Wait Chapel.
Richard Heard, associate professor of music at Wake Forest, will give a pre-performance talk at 6:40 p.m. in the Balcony Room of Wait Chapel.
Gunn originally planned to perform at Wake Forest one week later, but made a switch in his schedule when he was asked this fall by Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell to join him for a “musical soiree” that will be broadcast live from Lincoln Center Jan. 21 on PBS.
