The Winston-Salem Symphony's 2006-2007 season ends with a blockbuster performance by superstar violinist, Midori. Her performance of Bruch's Violin Concerto, combined with Maurice Ravel’s enchanting depiction of childhood fairy tales and Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide, you will leave the concert hall feeling years younger! Program: Britten - Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra Ravel- Suite from Mother Goose Bach - Concerto for 2 violins in d minor (featuring Midori and a Youth Orchestra violinist) Bruch - Violin Concerto No. 1 in g minor Midori’s concerts with the Winston-Salem Youth Orchestra and the Winston-Salem Symphony are part of her Orchestra Residencies Program, a special project which aims to strengthen the ties of the American youth orchestra to its local adult orchestra, as well as to build their relationships with the performers, staff, and the community-at-large.
