On Saturday, April 21st at 7:30 pm, the Winston Salem Symphony will perform the final concert of the 2006-2007 Plugged-In Pops Series presenting vocalist Patti Austin in a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald. The concert will be performed at Reynolds Auditorium on the campus of RJ Reynolds High School (301 N. Hawthorne Rd. Winston-Salem). Grammy-nominated vocalist Patti Austin will present an enchanting evening of song in tribute to the great Ella Fitzgerald. Enjoy classics such as How High the Moon, Our Love is Here to Stay, The Man I Love, and many more. Of Ms. Austin’s performance, USA Today says, “Singing the works of Ella Fitzgerald is one thing. But trying to pull off a credible note-for-note recital…is a challenge few pop singers would dare.
