    In a special hospitality event on Saturday, November 28, the public is invited to avoid the hustle and jostle and long lines, and visit Downtown where between 10am-4pm when many retailers will offer old fashioned hospitality, one on one customer service and unique goods versus mass produced items. Shop more than 25 shops with local art, hand-made jewelry, from-scratch baked goods and antiques that will be open with regular hours. See below for some of the Green Saturday Hospitality Highlights (free and open to the public).
    Just Be (352 S. Elm St.) Enjoy complimentary hot cider and sample freshly-baked goods from Downtown bakers while browsing one of Greensboro’s largest collections of local, regional and US made arts and fine crafts stores.
    Jules Antiques & Fine Arts (530 S. Elm St.) Situated among a half dozen neighboring antique shops, Jules offers complimentary cider, art, antiques, accessories and a large selection of stunning vintage jewelry value priced for all budgets.
    Mack and Mack (220 S. Elm St.) Downtown is home to a high end women’s fashion design studio which makes its clothing line for boutiques across the US. Draw your own discount before you shop for 35, 40, 45 or 50% off anything in the showroom which includes specialty jackets, Magic collection separates-their signature clothing line, jewelry, scarves and more. Enjoy fresh apple cider and snacks and relax to the tunes of Randy Craven and Sheila Duell, a piano-vocal duo playing jazzy renditions of holiday favorites between 2p.m.-4p.m. as well as with co-owner John Davis who will tickle the ivories on the baby grand piano throughout the day.
    Mary Contrary (227-A S. Elm St.) Learn how to make inexpensive natural tree ornaments at Downtown’s fanciful gift shop which carries something for everyone from one-of-a-kind baby and toddler outfits to green rocking chairs, tea towels to novelty cards. Also, see the enchanting “Mary, Mary Quite Contrary” tree which will be unveilved for a charity raffle.
    Visitors are invited to check out Downtown’s greenest addition, the Downtown Farm Market, located at 505 N. Greene St. now open six days a week. Buy cheese, baked goods, beef, free range chicken and eggs on Saturdays from 8a.m.-3p.m. Also find vegetables, fruits, North Carolina-made pickles, preserves, apple butter, turkeys and North Carolina country ham daily.
