Gallery of the Arts Featured Artists for December

The Community Arts Café will present three featured artists for the month of December at the Gallery of the Arts, located at 411 West Fourth Street, in downtown Winston-Salem. The works of Gail Roberts, Jonna Ellis Holston and Leigh Sommerville McMillan will be featured in the exhibit that begins on Friday, December 4th with an opening reception from 7:00pm to 10:00pm in conjunction with the First Friday Gallery Hop, and runs through December 31st. Gallery hours are Mondays through Saturdays from 11am to 8pm and Sundays from 12noon to 6pm. Gail Roberts is our featured 2 dimensional artist working in oils. Gail’s work has received awards and been placed in numerous juried exhibits with Associated Artists of Winston-Salem, The Arts Council, Domicile and West End galleries. Jonna Ellis Holston is our 3 dimensional, award winning bead artist and past president of the Winston-Salem Bead Society. Holston’s work has been published in Bead & Button Magazine and she has taught her original designs and techniques across the country for over 8 years. Holston will also be demonstrating during the reception. Our featured literary artist is Leigh Sommerville McMillan, Editor of Winston-Salem Living magazine and 10 year Scene & Heard columnist for the Winston-Salem Journal. Her book, “It All Started with a Dog” will be featured and available for sale, and a reading and book signing will be held by McMillan prior to the reception on Tuesday December 1st at 7:00pm in the gallery.
