Mercedes Benz Men's Basketball Showcase

The Triad’s best high school basketball players will play December 4-5, 2009 at the Mercedes Benz Men’s Basketball Showcase. 2012 Prospect Tyler Lewis (FCDS) headlines a great list of underclassmen that will compete at this year’s event. Players George MaNgoue and Reco McCarter have already committed to High Point University and VCU, respectively. All teams consist of at least 1 or 2 college prospects that could potentially play at the division one level. Past players include Mason Plumlee (Duke), Lakeem Jackson (South Carolina), Colby Lewis (Charlotte), Karron Johnson (Oklahoma State), Bawa Manuiri (Indiana), and many others. Location: Childress Activities Center at Forsyth Country Day School Entry Fee: $7 per person Featured Teams: FCDS, Northwest Guilford, Oak Ridge Military, Ragsdale, Wayne Country Day, American International, Greenfield School, and Charlotte Christian Committed players: George MaNgoue (High Point), Reco McCarter (VCU) Game Schedule: Friday, December 4, 2009 5PM – American International vs. Oak Ridge Military Academy 6:30PM – Charlotte Christian vs. Forsyth Country Day (Ladies) 8PM – Charlotte Christian vs. Forsyth Country Day Saturday, December 5, 2009 12PM – American International vs. Charis Prep 1:30PM – Wayne Country Day vs. Ragsdale 3PM – Northwest Guilford vs. Forsyth Country Day *In addition, we will select an All-tournament team as well as the showcase MVP. All-tournament team consists of the top 12 players in the event.
