The Bruckner Orchester, an Austrian philharmonic orchestra, has a history of performing for more than 200 years. It has risen to prominence as a leading orchestra in Central Europe, recording works by Mozart, Schubert, Matthus, Schmidt, Korngold, Holst, and all of Bruckner’s symphonies in their original version.
The program for the Wake Forest performance will include the violin concerto by Philip Glass, Leonard Bernstein’s “Symphonic Dances” from “West Side Story,” and Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 101, “The Clock.The Bruckner Orchester’s music director and conductor is Dennis Russell Davies, who was born in Toledo, Ohio, and studied piano and conducting at the Julliard School in New York City. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Tickets: General admission is $21; $15 for senior citizens and non-Wake Forest students. Tickets are free to Wake Forest students, faculty and staff. For tickets, contact the Wake Forest box office at 336-758-5295.
