The Natural Science Center of Greensboro will celebrate the reptile world every weekend in September with special reptilian highlights throughout the zoo and museum! Sept. 5 - All three keeper talks in Animal Discovery at 11:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. will feature reptiles! Also, touch smaller relatives in the Kavanagh Discovery House and our Herpetology Lab. Sept. 6 - Meet Katrina, our brand new 6 ft. Nile crocodile from New Orleans, at the 3:30 p.m. croc feeding. Sept. 12 - Staff from Bur-Mil Park will be in the zoo to talk about Bugs and Living the Wild Life from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Also, view a snake feeding featuring Bertha, our 15 ft. Burmese Python, at 2 p.m. Sept. 19 - Our biggest event in Reptember is an annual favorite, Snaketacular! Ron Key is back with his collection of snakes from around the world, all safely displayed. From thin vine snakes to heavy-bodied vipers you'll see the amazing diversity of these remarkable animals from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Venomous spiders and scorpions, along with local snakes will also "wow" visitors. This is the perfect opportunity to get your reptile questions answered. Also, how much does THAT snake weigh? Find out as we weigh Bertha at our 2:00 p.m. keeper talk. Will she break 100 lbs.? Sept. 26 - All reptiles, all day! Meet a variety of our tortoises, lizards and snakes at keeper talks at 11:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Bring your camera - and your questions - to learn about reptiles here and in the wild. Every Sunday at 3:30 p.m. during Reptember, keepers will feed our crocodiles in their newly designed exhibit in Animal Discovery. Visitors will enjoy a jaw-dropping experience!
