TheTriad Intentional Community Network (TICN) will meet on Thursday,Sept. 10 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Newcomers are especially encouraged to come at 5:30 to receive an introduction to intentional communities and our group, but all are welcome at that time. Our regular meeting will begin promptly at 6:00.

Cyndy Hayworth, member of Greensboro's Zoning Commission, will share the many ways zoning regulations impact the formation of intentional communities in Greensboro. If you will let us know the issues and questions that interest you the most, we will forward the information to her right away. For instance, one TICN attendee has started the list of questions with this big one: Local zoning severely limits unrelated seniors and people interested in shared-housing of the social and economic opportunity of living together or the opportunity to live in their own unit on a relative's property. They are limited from 'aging in place' with close social supports in mixed-age neighborhoods instead of in 'age ghettos". What is Greensboro doing to change this?

The Triad Intentional Communities Network (TICN) brings together people who are exploring paradigms that offer affordable alternatives to living in isolation or institutionalized settings, especially as we age. We usually meet monthly at the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, a large building at the corner of Mendenhall and Walker. If you have not visited with us before, please carefully note the directions to our room location. The Presbyterian Church of the Covenant is a large building, and other doors will be locked! To find the fellowship hall where we meet, park at the back of the church, in front of the entrance labeled "After Gateway". The door to the fellowship hall is to the left of the After Gateway portion of the building, and is across from the entrance to the church office. It will be unlocked.
