    Africa: Myth, Magic and Reality an exhibition of paintings and etchings by Betty LaDuke, of Ashland, Oregon will be exhibited at the African American Atelier March 10 -May 5, 2007. These works created between 1986 and 1999 reflect Africa’s culture, diversity and rites of passage, as well as common dreams and aspirations. An artist reception will be held on March 25, 2007 at 3pm in the Atelier gallery. The community can meet LaDuke at an artist reception Sunday, March 25, 2007, 3:00 p.m. at the Atelier. A hands on mixed media workshop of symbolic self portraits by artist, LaDuke and hosted by the African American Atelier will be conducted March 24, 2007 from 2 pm-4 pm in the Greensboro Cultural Center-Room 306. Registration is required and small fee applies. Atelier co-founder and arts educator Alma Adams, Ph. D., is the curator of the exhibition which is free and open to the public. Partial funding and support for the exhibition events are provided by The North Carolina Arts Council and Guilford County. The Atelier, Parks and Recreation City Arts Department and East Market Street Development Corporation are co-sponsors of the Festival events. The community is cordially invited to attend. Gallery hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
