    Center City Live! The spring celebration week at Center City Park: April 14-20, 2007 Center City Live! is sponsored by: AIG United Guaranty, Lincoln Financial, and VF Corporation. In addition, the Greensboro Partnership sponsored the Center City Park Ribbon Cutting on December 1st, 2006. Our media partners for Center City Live! are: Bouvier Kelly for design work for marketing materials, the News & Record as our print media sponsor, WFMY News2 as our television sponsor, WKZL, Rock 92, and WFDD 88.5 as radio sponsors, and Fairway Outdoor Advertising for billboards. Center City Park has free Wi-Fi access provided by Time Warner Cable Saturday, April 14th: 11:00-4:00 Our sponsors for Saturday are: The Junior League of Greensboro, Moses Cone Health System and the Moses Cone Wesley Long Community Health Foundation. Saturday’s entertainment supported also by: AG Edwards, Bank of America, Bank of North Carolina, Carolina Bank, Charles Aris, Inc., Craft Insurance, Merrill Lynch and Bernard Robinson, Highwoods Properties, RBC Centura, SunTrust Banks, and Wachovia The day will be held together with the Junior League’s Passport to Center City Live! Attendees will travel through the fun and games of the day enjoying activities and entertainment throughout. There will be 6 fixed stations of activities: Science: Giant tortoises from the Natural Science Center Living History: a real live sit-in counter with photo opportunities and coloring books from the International Civil Rights Center and Museum and the Greensboro Historical Museum Play: Bubbletown from the Children’s Museum to include bubble art, stomping, bubblegum blowing contest, make your own bubble wand Literacy: Greensboro Public Library’s Reading Railroad Art: the big box city project, make your own hat, and pottery demonstrations from ArtQuest @ Green Hill Center for North Carolina Art Health & Wellness: firetrucks, policecars, bicycle safety, body mass indexing, … (Saturday, April 14th 11:00-4:00 cont.) There will be staged music and entertainment to include: 11:00 - Grimsley High School’s Blue Steel drumline 11:30-12:30 Hot Pink Flamingos (steel drums) 1:00-1:30 Panama Angels (Latin American dance group) 2:00-2:30 Kollabo (dance squad and hip hop dance instruction) 3:00-3:30 Nutbush Ramblers (old-time/blue grass) There will be roaming entertainment throughout the day including: 11:30-1:30 Flame and Ember 11:30-3:30 Krackerjack the balloon clown 1:30-3:30 Richard Erno/Fire Phoenix. Sunday, April 15th: Concert sponsored by The Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro and the artists talk sponsored by Schell Bray Aycock Abel & Livingston. Picnics, blankets, chairs, dogs, & families encouraged. 4:00 Open House with Center City Park artists & landscape architects Bob Uhlig, Halvorson Design Partnership will be on hand to speak about the design of the park Tim Knowles, Triad Section Chair, NC Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects will talk about the plant material Jim Cooper, fountain vessel and decorative fencing metalsmith Fred Johnston, bird pitcher & chicks potter 5:00 special public art announcement 5:15 concert with the Allison King Band Week of April 16th-20th: 11:30-1:30 each day Enjoy a lunch break downtown – bring your own, pick something up at a local restaurant, or purchase something at the park.
