The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem’s ACT Department, under the direction of new Education Director Jennifer Justice, is pleased to present a staged reading of Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest – the second in a series of Living Literature Productions sponsored by the RJ Reynolds Foundation. Performance dates are March 9 & 10, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. and March 11 at 2:00 p.m. at The Arts Council Theatre Rehearsal Hall (610 Coliseum Drive). Individual Tickets are “Pay What you Can”. Call 748-0857 x 204 for more information. Oscar Wilde’s most famous comedy challenges the smugness and pomposity of Victorian society. The characters are witty and delightful as they fall into a tangle of love where everyone and no one is named Earnest. This smart comedy about social hypocrisy in Victorian England is laugh-out-loud funny! ACT, the Education Department at The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem provides a complete and comprehensive education in dramatic art with an emphasis on performance. ACT is known for producing high quality shows that appeal to a broad audience. The Living Literature program of ACT brings books alive on the stage and in the classroom. Living Literature shows are available for group bookings and school tours. For more information, call Jennifer Justice at 748-0857x204. Living Literature 2007 has been made possible through a generous grant from the R.J. Reynolds Foundation. The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem is a funded member of the Arts Council of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County.
