Stand-up with your Band Up 'Comics and Chords'

at The Green Bean

This summer, the “Comics and Chords” entertainment series kicks off with its first two shows in Greensboro. Each show in the ongoing series will feature two local bands as well as two local stand-up comedians, in the hopes of showing that the local stand-up scene is as dynamic, experimental and artistic as the Triad’s more visible indie rock and visual arts scenes. Series creator Chris Fox, who experimented with similar “hybrid” shows in April of this year, hopes to kindle interest in the Triad’s edgier comic stylists by bringing the acts to where their intended audience is, rather than wait for that audience to come to them. The dates and line-up for the first two shows are as follows:

JULY 11th at The Green Bean, with comedians Chris Fox and Trent Bowles and bands The Three-Brained Robot (GSO) and Sugar High Gang (W-S). Raleigh comic Joe Weinhouse will host this show.
