I have been a Ronnie Milsap fan for nearly 30 years. I was not a country music fan and reluctantly went to my first Milsap concert in the 80's. He was the best all-around performer I had ever seen. I have loyally supported his concerts in North Carolina and Virginia ever since. Although his stage performance is more subdued due to age (no more jumping off of pianos and stunts on stage), his performance is still a "class-act" and one that you would not want to miss. His singing style and inspiration to reach others is felt by the audience. Collapse

first, the Carolina theatre is a beautiful venue to see live artists, but it won't be around much longer if last night's turnout was an indication of what's to come. Many empty seats. No opening act, Rickie Lee sang less than two hrs, no intermission, and no encore. When the lights came up after she left the stage the entire audience was puzzled. Back in the day, Rickie and Tom were the king and queen of Coolsville. Singing a few of her old tunes, she still has the pipes. A few of her new tunes were good, but Rickie seems to still be doing the good stuff. A little out there for me. Her band was excellent. Few stumbles, since it is the first date on the tour. Her demeanor and talking with the audience between songs was relaxed and easy. The audience, a little older and respectful. Suprisingly, she didn't sing her signature song, Chuck E.s in love. All in all, a disappointing show. Not worth the $40 ticket. Next time go to the Cradle in Carrboro for twice the music. Collapse

The $5 is a measly amount to pay that supports this historic Theatre. Seeing a movie on the big screen in this beautiful theatre is an experience that can't be replicated in a home.

Greensboro was a strange venue choice for this veteran rocker but glad he came. He played two sets of old and new and ended with a David Bowie solo. Set as a 4 piece band the songs were all vocal dominated. Had the feel of a open rehearsal with about 150 in attendance in large theater. Instant Karma opened second set I believe. I always loved slow rock drive realized by Love and Rockets. His music is primarily about lyricism. Small crowd was thrilled to have him. I am surprised this is the only summer rock concert. What's up with THAT!!!! This venue will be overlooked as a rock venue if only one a year is scheduled. Collapse

Who would pay $5 to see a fuzzy DVD projection of a movie on a ginormous screen? I don't charge $5 for my friends to watch a DVD at my house - why do you guys?
