NC A&T State University will host the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field East Regional for the second time in four years. Student-athletes representing more than 110 institutions from Maine to Florida will be competing for a chance to earn a trip to the NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships on June 10-13, 2009 at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. The schedule of events is comprised of individual events: the 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, 1500-meter, 3000-meter steeplechase, 5000-meter, 100-meter hurdles (women), 110-meter hurdles (men), 400-meter hurdles, high jump, pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus, javelin and hammer. The 4 x 100 meter and 4 x 400 meter relays also will be contested. The top five individual event place finishers and the top three relay teams from each region automatically qualify to the championship meet. Tickets for the event are available at Aggie Stadium for both days (All Session) or daily (Single Session).
