Add Review/Comment
Center City Park, Sustainable Greensboro and Elsewhere Artist Collaborative are hosting the inaugural Earth Day at Center City on April 22 from 4:30 -7:30pm in Center City Park. The event is free and open to the public. We'll celebrate Greensboro's achievements in becoming more sustainable and demonstrate the contributions local artists and non-profits make in improving the quality of life in Greensboro. The event will feature:
Live music by Greensboro performers - The New Familiars (www.myspace.com/thenewfamiliars) and Amelia's Mechanics.
A Waste Art Challenge facilitated by the Elsewhere Artist Collaborative will use materials donated by local businesses to create art from castoff materials.
An interactive art installation of teepees entitled "Polymorphic Plastic Parade" will be raised in the park as an example of art made from discarded materials.
ArtQuest, Green Hill's hands-on art studio for children, will host art activities for children.
Green Drinks Greensboro, a monthly environmental social networking group, will host a beer garden sponsored by Natty Greene's Brewery.
Cintas Document Management will be on site providing paper shredding services (phonebooks, magazines, documents, etc).
