    The Triad Youth Jazz Society is hosting its Third Annual Jazz Festival Fundraiser. Festival Park. Saturday June 13, 2009 This Year's the focus is Kids helping Kids. Part of the proceeds from this event will go to programs that help to eliminate childhood obesity. Jazz workshops available starting Tuesday June 9 at the Cultural Arts Center Downtown Greensboro.

        This event will honor Greensboro Jazz/Blues Musician, Billy Ransom Hobbs, who dedicated his life to "keeping the music alive!" He taught or encouraged many fine amateur and professional musicians to develop their musical talents and to share their music with the world, just as he did. A portrait of Hobbs by Leo Rucker will be unveiled, a scholarship will be established in his honor, and several of his family members will attend the event. Collapse
