A&T University Galleries exhibit that showcases artwork from instructors, professors, and administrators of several historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) from across the nation. Originally organized by the National Alliance of Artists from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (NAAHBCU) and the APEX Museum in Atlanta, GA. The theme of the exhibition is New World Slavery, a painful reminder of United States history that has been chronicled by many artists. However, the art work in this exhibition expands the disclosure to include themes of pride, resistance, restoration and disporic consciousness, themes central to the work of many African American artists. A special gallery walk-through led by Shawnya Harris, director, will occur Saturday, Feb. 7, 1-2:15PM.
