Want to know if spring is just around the corner? “Woody the Groundhog” will make his Groundhog Day meteorological prediction in the Animal Discovery Zoological Park at the Natural Science Center of Greensboro promptly at 10:00 a.m. on February 2. The old legend says that if a groundhog comes out of his burrow on February 2 and sees his shadow, then there will be six more weeks of winter. While other groundhogs may rely on their shadow alone, “Woody” will use his up-to-date Weather Center, as well as his weather sense to come up with his prediction. There has been some suggestion that the enthusiastic cheering by the crowd might sway him! Included in general admission: $8 adults, $7 children.
