World-class blues entertainers Mel Waiters, Sir Charles Jones, Theodis Ealey, Roy C, Marvin Sease, Millie Jackson and Latimore will all share the Greensboro Coliseum stage! Tickets will go on sale Friday, November 21st at www.ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets including participating area Lowes Foods locations, FYE and Macy’s stores, charge by phone at 336-852-1100 or at the Greensboro Coliseum box office. Theodis Ealey is truly multi-talented. He is an accomplished Blues guitarist, vocalist, songwriter producer, and above all Entertainer. Theodis earned industry recognition for his innovative style and authentic Mississippi flavor as the recipient of the 1997 Mo' Better Blues Male Artist of the Year Award and 1994 Male Vocalist Top Star Award. He has six critically successful Blues albums and also crossed music genres and performed as a featured vocalist with Hip-Hop Group Ghetto Mafia "On Da Grind," further expanding his fan base. His electrifying stage performances opened doors to Hollywood leading him to appearances in the NBC Movie of the Week "A Kiss To Die For," the Emmy-winning HBO special "Miss Evers' Boys," the major motion picture "The Fighting Temptations," as well as nationally-run commercials. His latest album "Stand Up In It" was a runaway success as the #1 Single on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip Hop Singles Sales Chart for five consecutive weeks, and debuted as #5 on Billboard's Blues Album Chart. Marvin Sease, the legendary gospel artist from Blackville, South Carolina, has performed with The Gospel Crowns, and as a solo performer throughout his over 40- plus year career. In 1986, he recorded a self titled L.P. featuring popular song, "Ghetto Man," which propelled him into the blues circuit. His classic ten minute track "Candy Licker," released a year later cemented his stardom. The song is still a female favorite! Mel Waiters has a smooth vocal style that many admire but few possess. This smooth San Antonio native debuted the critically acclaimed album “Suki-Suki Man” and enjoyed chart success with various hits “Hit It and Quit It” and "Got My Whiskey". His fourth album “Material Things” made the Billboard Top 100 R&B charts and attracted audiences with the single "Hole In The Wall". Among other hit singles have been "Man Shoes," "Show You How To Love Again," "How Can I Get Next To You" and "The Smaller The Club”. His latest of nine albums, “Throw Back Days” includes favorites “Friday Night Fish Fry” and “Ladies Party Night”. Latimore, the deep-voiced Tennessean began recording for Miami mogul Henry Stone in 1965, and his late-'60s Dade singles are solid deep-soul. Latimore found stardom in 1973 with a jazzy reading of T-Bone Walker's "Stormy Monday." He topped the soul lists in 1974 with the anguished "Let's Straighten It Out," a simmering soul/blues hybrid, and encored with the incendiary "Keep the Home Fires Burnin'" the next year. His appeal has remained undiminished to this day. Sir Charles Jones, the Ohio-born, Alabama raised “King of Southern Soul” impressive musical styles range from jazz to fusion and gospel to blues. Protégé of legendary Blues and Gospel artist Marvin Sease, Sir Charles Jones is described to have “a versatile style and wide range of vocal ability; with just a touch of smooth rhythm melodic melodies, and the cry of love, pain, happiness, fun times, and the sincerity of commitment”. Millie Jackson, is much more than an entertainment legend. The shapely, charismatic and multi-talented entertainer is without a doubt, a music industry icon who’s oft criticized career paved the way for many of today's forward female recording artists and entertainers. Inspired by Gladys Knight, Millie Jackson thrust herself onto the music scene in the late 1960’s creating crossover top ten hits such as "Ask Me What You Want," "My Man, A Sweet Man" and "Hurts So Good". Ms. Jackson was known for her unique and innovative rap style of racy, raunchy language. Her twice Grammy nominated release “(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don’t Want to Be Right” was the featured track on her 1974 album “Caught Up”. Jackson now runs her record label, Weird Wreckuds. After a lengthy hiatus from recording, she released her fifteenth album, “Not For Church Folk” in 2002, which marked a return to her "tell it like it is" lyrical style and urban contemporary sound. Roy-C is a legendary soul singer with talents that far exceed the moderate attention he has received since his start in 1958. He sang in a vocal group called The Genies and scored a hit with "Who's That Knocking". He led a vocal group called Mark 4 and had a huge hit with "Shotgun Wedding" (#14 R&B) and released his first album in 1966,"That Shotgun Wedding Man" and has been on labels including Smash, Black Hawk, Shout, Alaga, Mercury, and 3 Gems. A diverse talent, he even recorded a hit single called "I Want To Marry You" as "Little Frankie". In 1973, Roy had more commercial success when his album "Sex & Soul" charted at #56 (R&B) and the follow up "Something Nice" spawned three more hits. He has recorded over 15 albums and enjoys a faithful Southern following and deep respect from the genre. Roy-C is an authentic soul man in an era that has too few.
