DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Event Name: Coiled Fabric Vessels=0D=0AEvent Url: http://www.gotriadscene.com/event/detail/24917=0D=0AEvent Date Begin: 2010-03-20=0D=0AEvent Date End: 2010-03-20=0D=0A=0D=0ACoiling is a flexible medium that allows cloth fabric to be used in exciting ways to create baskets, bowls, and other vessel shapes. It's also a great use for that beloved fabric remnant in your closet! Fabric strips are wound around a paper or cotton coil and connected by use of a knotting technique. During the class each person will make a vessel approximately 8 x 5 inches in size (size will vary based on chosen design and cording size used). If possible participants should bring scissors to class; all other materials provided. No experience required. Lynn Pownell is a weaver who lives and works from her home studio in Glencoe Mill Village, Burlington, NC. She specializes in weaving fabric strips into rugs, coiled vessels and other household items using recycled textiles, textile mill ends and loom waste, a variety of yarns, and an occasional piece of new fabric in her work. Fee includes all materials except scissors.=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:1 p.m.
